Cviche 105 is expanding at a rapid pace, thanks to the new vision and direction set by its owner and creator, Juan Chipoco. This ambitious project brought together a team of talented professionals, including architect Norberto Rosenstein, the Medellin-based studio PLASMA, and myself as local design consultant who came together in the design and construction of many elements.
Custom Designs and Unique Features
One of the standout features of this project is the custom-designed bar top and front, both made from impressive Nero Marquina marble, produced by Expo Stone. The selection of different mosaics for the hallways, such as 3D gold mosaics, and fish scale designs in the bathrooms, added a playful touch and thematic coherence with the restaurant's name.
What excites me most is the custom design of commercial fabrics. For Juan Chipoco, I designed a logo with his initials, which can be seen in various sizes and colors throughout the space. In all my projects, booths play a crucial role, and I believe you can recognize my work by their distinctive design.
Innovative Lighting and Artistic Elements
Working with Kendu on light boxes was particularly interesting, as the client wanted to move away from simple picture frames and murals. This collaboration with this wonderful Spanish company based in Doral brought a new dimension to the space. The artificial plants were carefully designed by Vic+Vit and selected to look as natural as possible, and I believe we achieved that goal.
The fish sculptures, born from my imagination and brought to life by the incredible plastic artist Ahmed Gomez, add a unique artistic touch to the space. Additionally, the selection and placement of magnificent Peruvian and Bolivian handicrafts, such as the Diabladas, help create a magical atmosphere.
