As an interior designer, my passion is to craft spaces that transport and inspire. My latest project, Zuri in Wynwood, Miami, showcases this vision by blending Moroccan elegance with modern design to create a truly unique dining experience.
Concept and Vision:
Located in Miami's vibrant Wynwood neighborhood, Zuri stands out as a pioneer in bringing Moroccan flavors and aesthetics to the local culinary scene. The challenge was to design a space that captures the warmth and hospitality of Morocco while fitting seamlessly into Wynwood's dynamic environment. Our goal was to create an atmosphere that feels both exotic and inviting, offering guests an authentic Moroccan experience.
Design Elements:
Color and Texture: Inspired by Morocco's vibrant landscapes and architecture, the design incorporates deep blues, warm reds, and golden accents. Rich textures like reclaimed woods, handmade linens, and intricate mosaics add depth and authenticity to the space.
Art and Decor: Collaborating with Moroccan artisans, we integrated traditional art pieces and decor elements that celebrate Morocco's cultural heritage. Handcrafted zellige tiles and tadelakt finishes enhance the restaurant's authentic ambiance.
Layout and Functionality: The layout is designed to evoke the feeling of a Moroccan riad, with open spaces that encourage social interaction and cozy alcoves for intimate dining experiences. The outdoor terrace transports guests to a garden oasis, complete with bamboo paneling and lush vegetation.
